ScanSnap S1300 Review
Whether you are in the field digitizing receipts, bank statements or term papers, or in the office capturing project crucial documents for a presentation, this mobile ScanSnap takes scanning beyond the desktop. Weighing just 3.08 pounds without the power adaptor, and measuring 11.18 inches long by 3.9 X 3.03 inches, it fits neatly in your mobile office carry-on.
The S1300 can be powered though a USB port when an AC power source is not available. With the included business card scanning software, and featuring cross-platform compatibility for PC and Mac, it is also fast, scanning up to 8 double-sided pages per minute.

The S1300 scans documents in a matter of a few seconds into pdf files, and does an excellent job of scanning several documents back to back. You can then organize these files for easy retrieval on your hard drive or transfer the files to a portable usb drive.
Features of this Scanner include:
- Designed to be the smallest Fujitsu multi-page duplex scanner for one-button ease of use
- Max Supported Document Size: 8.5 in x 14.17
- Optical Resolution: 600 dpi x 600 dpi
- USB or AC powered
- Manufacturer Warranty: 1 year warranty
The software is simple, intuitive and easy to use. One thing to be aware of- while it can be USB powered, you still have to have a separate USB data cable for the data, in other words you can’t go with a single cable like certain other portable USB hard drives, unless you want to bring along the AC adaptor.
Here is what one owner had to say about the ScanSnap S1300:
“I happen to be using the S1300 in conjunction with my I-Mac. The device comes with software which enables the use of this device on a Mac or Windows platform. For many years, I have used a typical flat-bed scanner, fax, printer combo, but I never ever really got around to scanning all the personal documents that seem to pile up in my home office. This is mainly due to the slow speed of a typical flatbed scanner. Within a matter of a couple of hours, I have reduced my file cabinet down to about half of the size that it was. The S1300 scans documents in a matter of a few seconds into the much desired pdf files.” (Saint Five-0) Excepted for Size; Read the Complete Review Here
